The Block’s Foreman Dan Finds a Lie on Camera, Calls It ‘Shocking

Sunday’s episode of The Block was full of tension, as Foreman Dan took matters into his own hands to expose a lie. The drama began when teammates Han and Can were caught washing their paint brushes and buckets under an outdoor tap—a clear violation of the show’s strict rules.

Foreman Dan, who is responsible for keeping the site safe and up to code, was frustrated by the blatant disregard for the rules. “We’ve got springs everywhere. We don’t want to be contaminating our soil near the springs,” he said, reminding the contestants that paint must only be disposed of in a designated off-site wash space.

However, when confronted about the large, colored puddle pooling nearby, Han and Can flatly denied any involvement, instead trying to shift the blame to a plasterer. Dan was immediately suspicious. “I’ve just come up and seen the girls rinsing their buckets of paint just here… they reckon they didn’t do this puddle, they reckon that was a plasterer or something,” he told the cameras, clearly unconvinced.

With his trust already on thin ice, Dan decided to call their bluff. He retreated to the site office to do some digging, and what he found was exactly what he expected. A quick review of the security camera footage caught Can red-handed, rinsing her brushes and creating the exact puddle she had denied making. “Why lie? Why would you lie about it?” a frustrated Dan asked. “They’ve washed out paint on the ground, they’ve lied to me, they’re not taking ownership,” he fumed.

Faced with the hard evidence, Can offered a quick apology and promised it wouldn’t happen again. But in a cheeky to-camera piece, she brushed off the incident with a grin, saying, “It’s the first time that I have been caught and told off and it’ll be the last.”

A History of Confrontation

This isn’t the first time the Perth-based teammates have been at the center of controversy on The Block. Just last week, the pair was involved in another heated clash with their competitors, Sonny and Alicia, over a challenge in which both teams installed a heated seat in their Hepburn Spa bathrooms.

The teams had been told they were not allowed to include underfloor heating in their designs. However, Sonny and Alicia thought outside the box and fought hard to get a heated seat approved, believing the unique idea would win them a state-of-the-art caravan. Their plan was ruined when they discovered that Han and Can had also included a heated seat in their design, leading to an explosion on set.

“Why would you do that? If you’ve heard another house is doing it, why are you copying?” Alicia said in a heated rant. “It makes no sense… these girls better have a good excuse for this.” When confronted, Han denied the accusations of cheating, claiming a team of chippies had let them in on the idea. Sonny was furious, telling the camera, “It’s just annoying because the legwork I put in made it happen and that was our sort of secret, as such… we had a point of difference and now we don’t.”

Sonny and Alicia didn’t believe Han’s story. “When someone lies straight to your face, to me, that’s the worst. Just be honest. I think it’s full of s***. I think she heard our idea,” Alicia told the cameras. The intense conversation left Han in tears, and Can ultimately went to apologize to Sonny and Alicia, calling it a misunderstanding rather than a malicious move.

The latest drama, however, shows a pattern of questionable behavior from Han and Can. As the competition heats up, it remains to be seen if they will be able to regain the trust of their fellow contestants and the respect of Foreman Dan.
